Meet Jocilene Carvalho and the SC Cleaning team
SC Cleaning Services began with eight houses and one owner who had been cleaning homes since she was twelve. Today about 23 full-time cleaners work under her roof, and she is still the one who watches over all of it.

From housekeeper at twelve to twenty-three cleaners

Age 12
Her first job, in Brazil: housekeeper for a family.
2005
At about 23, full of dreams, she moves to the United States and arrives in Framingham at Christmas. Her first job is for a small cleaning company with little room to grow, so she moves on.
Next
Two years at a Brazilian bakery in downtown Framingham, where she learns leadership and customer service. She starts learning English, then works in a restaurant.
2009
She starts her own cleaning business with eight residential customers who gave her a chance.
2017
A business partnership that didn’t last, years of roadblocks and wasted money, and a fresh start. She structures the company in the form it has today.
Today
About 23 full-time cleaners, and a company that gives people arriving from other countries the chance to learn, to grow and to eventually become as successful as she feels.

- For International Women’s Day in March 2022, the company sponsored a spa day for 24 women on the team: massages, facials and mimosas.
- An annual picnic every July, with Brazilian-style food and the whole family.
- End-of-year celebrations, a tradition since December 2021.
